Azerbaijan Limits Alcohol and Tobacco Sales
Reuters reported on 8 February 1999 that Azerbaijan's president Haydar Aliyev signed a decree strengthening state control over the production, sale and import of spirits and tobacco. The decree established import quotas for cigarettes and a variety of alcoholic drinks. It also limited the sale of alcohol and tobacco to shops.
