American hops destroyed in fire

CNN reported on 3 October 2006 a warehouse fire in Yakima, Washington, which destroyed about 4% of America's hops. The USA produces nearly a quarter of the world's hops, and three quarters of the American hops crop is grown in the Yakima valley in Washington State. The United States grows seventeen varieties of hops. For more, see here.
