Drinking blamed for big rise in violence

The Times reports that in Britain violent crime recorded by the police rose by 6 per cent in the three months to the end of June, with much of it fuelled by binge drinking, according to recent figures.

The numbers of assaults involving injuries, robberies and sexual offences have all increased, according to the Home Office figures. Read more here.
